ICHC 2.0.1 is now available

I Can Has Cheezburger 2.0.1 is now available for sale, 48 hours after I submitted it. I strongly recommend updating to this version, since it now uses the Cheezburger featured content API instead of my scraped feed (which often went down, resulting in no pictures displayed). Note that this version is NOT compatible with OS 2.x, and this time I set the proper build options to insure that it can’t be installed on 2.x devices.

With ICHC 2.0 I mistakenly kept the deployment target as 2.0, which allowed people with unsupported systems to install it and have it crash immediately.

The OS 3.0 requirement is due to my use of Three20, which is not compatible with 2.x. Since OS 3.0 is now a free upgrade for iPod Touch users, there’s no reason to continue to support OS 2.x. I was also able to take advantage of this by producing an optimized (arm6 & arm7) build for the Pro version. Unfortunately I couldn’t build the free version optimized, since the Collider Media library isn’t arm7 compatible.

  1. Yay! This version is so stable! The API feed is obviously better. Thanks for sticking with this program despite your frustrations.

Now it's worth it to me to upgrade to the paid version.

BTW, you may want to update the info page within the app to swap in the There I Fixed It text for the OUAW feed. :). And I MUCH prefer the new Fixed feed over the Win feed! Any chance of getting the feed for People of Walmart?

    Thanks much!

    • Thanks! Unfortunately "People of Walmart" isn't a Cheezburger Network site, so it isn't available through the API. Only sites listed at http://cheezburger.com/sites/ will be supported, and not all of them currently support the API. I also need icons for the rest of the sites before I can add them.

  2. Hi There! I'm sorry to bother you.
I did the upgrade but now all I see is a darkness… It won't load any pictures or movies. What did i do wrong?
I have the pro version, i run OS 3.1.3 and i did a restart or reset on my iphone after download it. ( unfortunately that did not solved my "problem"). Do you have the enlightening answer?

  3. ICHC pro has always been my favorite app. I understand the hard work you've put into the upgrades. But now the pictures load slowly, and there's an ugly gray graphic that appears between every LOL pic. My OS and the app are running the most current versions. So, is this it?

    • Everyone complained the old version was slow & unresponsive. I rewrote it using Three20 (the same framework used for the FaceBook app). That gray graphic is part of TTImageView. I think the official API I'm using in 2.0.1 is slower than my server, but at least it doesn't go down several times a day.

  4. I second Beverley's remarks. The app used to be stylish and fast. Now there's the ugly grey placeholder while waiting for the next image, lagging, blank pics, and occasionally it gets stuck in a loop of maybe 5 pictures.

    • Everyone else hated the old version, and I agree with them. It was slow, buggy, and unresponsive. Using Three20 was a huge improvement. It seems like everything I do sucks. Whenever I think I improve something, people hate it even more. I will no longer do any further development on this app. If you don't like it, just delete it,
