Removr 1.1 Submitted

I just submitted Removr 1.1, which adds one major new feature: Exploding Yellow Balls, which destroy any red or green blocks or bars they hit, but don’t affect blue pieces or balls of any color. I also made night mode an option, which is off by default.

Make your own level maps

Have you finished all of the levels or are you bored with the current level? If you have a Mac, you can create your own levels, or modify the existing ones.

You’ll need to download the Level Editor here. This is the same tool we used to create the level maps. It isn’t especially user friendly, but in the future we plan to make a nicer editor and easier ways to share your creations.

When you sync your device with iTunes, Removr will appear in the file sharing section under the list of apps in iTunes. Save the one file listed on your desktop and open it with Level Editor. You can then play around with any of the levels and create new ones. Choose the type of piece you want to place on the map from the popup menu over the editing area and click on a square to place that piece. Option-click on a piece to remove it. The next time you sync with iTunes, copy the file you saved back to Removr’s file sharing section, but don’t rename it. If you screw things up too badly, delete the file in iTunes or remove & reinstall the app and it will be rebuilt.

Removr 1.0.5 is now available

Apple has approved Removr 1.0.5 just one day after I submitted it, a new speed record. New in this version:

  • Night mode – depending on the time of day, it will appear as a sunny day or spooky night.
  • Dramatically improved touch responsiveness. I’m using a faster method to locate the tapped piece.
  • ‘Visit us on the web’ is now ‘Latest News’ and it now opens a mobile-friendly page.

Removr crashing in 3.1.3

I’ve received reports of Removr crashing in 3.1.3, but there are no crash logs available in iTunes Connect and I have no 3.1.3 device to test it on. My iPhone 3GS can no longer be downgraded to 3.1.3, even using Cydia, since I don’t have a saved SHSH.

I’m willing to trade my iPhone 3GS with 4.0.1 (no SIM installed) for an iPhone or iPod Touch running 3.1.3 or earlier. If I can’t get a 3.1.3 device, I’ll make the next version require 4.0 as the minimum OS version, since I don’t want to have an app that crashes and I can’t track down or fix the crash without a device running 3.1.3.

Removr 1.0.3 is ready for sale

Removr 1.0.3 has been approved and is now ready for sale. It was “Waiting for Review” for 5 days, changed to “In Review” today, and about an hour later it was approved.

This version shows the level completion times as well as the number of moves. The next update will bring more levels & scoring changes.

Removr 1.0.3 Submitted

I have submitted Removr 1.0.3, which adds one new feature: it now shows level completion time as well as number of moves.

As an experiment with 1.0.2, I changed the category to kids games, since kids love Removr. However, that change was disastrous – I had no sales since the change. With 1.0.3 I changed back to the original category of puzzle games. Since I can only change the category with a new version, I submitted this one with only one new feature, otherwise I would have waited until I had a few more levels.
