M-Audio Keystation

I just canceled my order for a M-Audio Keystation 49E from the Apple store and ordered one from MacMall. Apple’s order status showed that it wouldn’t ship until Mar. 3. MacMall will get delivery next Monday and should ship right away. They’re also selling it for $79 instead of $99.

Pet Peeve: Installers that quit all applications

In Mac OS X, it’s NOT necessary to quit all running applications when installing an application like TurboTax, even if it does install its own private fonts. That’s just plain obnoxious. I wish software developers would get with it and stop doing things like that which annoy users.

It's back!

Someone ported MacPuke to Mac OS X! For anyone who wasn’t around at the time, this was a very old hack that made a disgusting sound when a disk was ejected. It was an interesting trick to play on someone.

LaunchBar

Until now I hadn’t bothered looking at LaunchBar, since I was satisfied with DragThing and I never liked any other launchers. I finally tried it a few days ago and loved it. I ended up buying it yesterday.

iLife is here

My copy of iLife just arrived. It includes both a CD (without iDVD or GarageBand) and a DVD with all applications.

iLife 04

I just ordered iLife ’04 from the Apple Store. I can’t wait to get my hands on GarageBand and I’m really looking forward to iPhoto 4.

Macworld Snoozefest

Steve’s keynote today was probably one of the least exciting ever. His Reality Distortion Field didn’t seem to be working. No new powerbooks or desktop systems, and the mini iPod costs too much. GarageBand is very cool, as well as the rest of iLife & Office 2004. No iTunes changes. Nothing that made me want to have it right now.

$250 for the iPod Mini is way too much. it should cost under $200, especially when you could buy a 15G iPod for only $50 more.

Cool XCode feature

I just noticed a cool feature since updating to XCode 1.1. It now shows marks in the scroll bar of the code editor window where errors or warnings occurred.
