15289 ª March 5 12:05 PM. “Let us pray that our country will stop this war.” From a recent speech by U.S. Congressman Dennis Kucinich of Ohio: “We did not authorize the administration to wage war anytime, anywhere, anyhow it pleases. We did not authorize war without end. We did not authorize a permanent war economy. We did not authorize an eye for an eye. Nor did we ask that the blood of innocent people, who perished on Sept. 11, be avenged with the blood of innocent villagers in

Afghanistan.”

Private Citizens Required to Enforce

Private Citizens Required to Enforce Laws. Lately the Police in Austin, Texas have found a new way to trample on civil liberties, inspired by the success of their colleagues in Florida and Louisiana. In an effort to crack down on drug use associated with the electronic music scene, they have forced venue owners and production crews to enforce drug laws at their events using methods that would be illegal if used by police themselves. Ballmer: Sanctions would ruin Windows. Microsoft’s CEO says the company would have to withdraw Windows from the market if a federal court approves sanctions sought by nine of the states in the antitrust case. [CNET News.com]

That sounds like a good thing to me. We’d be much better off without a buggy, unreliable OS dominating the market. Let’s have some real competition in the field. Who says we’re better off with Windows? Let’s hope this really does happen.

I’m now running Proteus instead of separate ICQ, AIM, and MSN clients. It works really nicely, and unlike Fire, it shows ICQ users’ names instead of just numbers. It also automatically imported my buddy lists from all 3 services.

“In an interview Peter reveals that he now has 130 ‘Up’ songs in

various stages of completion and that after releasing 1 (or 2) albums

he would quite like to make any leftover songs available for download

on the internet. ‘Up’ will be an “internal record, edgier than the

Dome stuff, more song-based” and could possibly include the track

‘Father, Son’ from the ‘OVO’ album.”

130 new PG songs!!!!!
