Mazel Tov! You are hereby an honorary Jew! This entitles you to all the yiddish you can utter, all the Jewish holidays, justification for your neuroses (if you don’t have any, we can recommend some), permission to hum tunes from Fiddler on the Roof, and a license to kvetch. This does not, however, entitle or require you to participate in world jewish conspiracies, pogroms, holocausts, religious ceremonies, the Israeli draft, or the wealth of the Rothchilds, or your circumcision. There are three books I’d recommend for newbies or wannabees: The Joy of Yiddish, Judaism for Dummies, and Haikus for Jews. All the best. – phil [Jeremiah’s Radio Weblog] I could just plotz (I love that word :).In the terminal window type:telnet

One thing I've been thinking
One thing I’ve been thinking about as I use Radio is that most weblogs are like a monologue. We can quote or link to another entry, but we can’t reply directly to an entry or start a discussion in a weblog. There should be some way to post comments in a Radio weblog.
Sorry I haven't posted today.
Sorry I haven’t posted today. It’s been incredibly hectic with work, having to fax stuff to the mortgage company, and working on some web pages for a new client.

I’ve been saying ‘Oy!’ a lot. I know I’m not Jewish so saying “Oy Vey!”(which is Yiddish) probably isn’t the wisest thing, but Dave says it all the time on his blog, and it’s addictive. Speaking of not being Jewish, a surprising number of the people I hang around on a daily basis are (I had named them previously, but I decided that wasn’t a good idea). Anyways, it just goes to show that I know a lot of very smart people, and a lot of those people are Jewish. I’m wonder if there are just as many Athiests and Christians? It’d be interesting to see this as a poll. Interesting, but I don’t know what signifigance it would hold. I don’t think descriminating on the basis of religion is a good idea. Don’t get pissed at me for observing something. I now concider myself a Humanist, it fits me well. [Jeremiah’s Radio Weblog]About being Jewish: although my ethnicity is Jewish (and what else could it be with the name Cohen?), I don’t really consider myself belonging to the Jewish religion, or any other organized religion for that matter. I’m not exactly an Atheist, but I don’t really believe in the Judeo-Christian concept of god. Religion isn’t really something I think about, but when I do, I guess I prefer Eastern religions.

Weight loss for geeks. A spectre is haunting Kuro5hin: the spectre of obesity. A look at the diary section reveals that regular K5ers are enormous, bloated fat behemoths, barely capable of reaching their keyboards over their gurgling, grossly distended, sweat-oozing bellies [links omitted to protect the guilty]. But do not despair! Geeks can lose weight. CAD coder and CEO John Walker has created a Hacker’s Diet especially for you! It’s available online, and downloadable as a zipped PDF or even a gzip postscript file. You can even download computer-based tools for Palm and Excel. Too lazy for that? Kuro5hin’s own TheophileEscargot has his own guide, The Fat Bloke’s Guide to Becoming Less Fat, dedicated to proving that even the idle can become thinner. If he can do it, anyone can! [kuro5hin.org]
I really need to start going to the gym again. I’ve been getting really lazy lately. Since I’ve been working at home, I spend way too much time in front of the computer and I’m not getting enough exercise. I feel really out of shape now

I’m now using the new version of Jeremiah‘s Soundwaves theme, with some minor changes to the day & item templates.
Thanks, Jeremiah!I've changed the template slightly
I’ve changed the template slightly to add colored backgrounds for day headers & items.
OK, enough of that. I
OK, enough of that. I got sick of the new theme pretty quickly, so I’m now back to the Transmitter theme.
